15.1 Yikes

We have been kinda in a pinch the past 5 months with our Canadian dollar dropping like a stone from our beloved 20 CZK to the 1 CDN and now today it dropped even more to 15 CZK meaning our dollar (which we are paid in) has 25% less buying power than 5 months ago. With inflation at 7% for January and February consecutively and taxes put up 5% after January to 19%,, interest rates raised 5 times in past year alone, and rapid inflation in the Czech, we are finding ourselves caught in a bit of a shocking situation. Fortunately CBM is trying to help us cope with this. However it had taken some considerable belt tightening and looking for bargin basement prices or not buy things at all. We usually don't talk about finances on our Blog but just wanted people to realize what we have been dealing with to pray with us that the economy would "calm down". Entering the EU has had its price... hoping its not too cosly. We still are at a lower standard of living than other Western European countries... but the Czech is well on its way up!
