Gentle rain...

Saturday's are like an oasis in the middle of a hectic paced life...there is a gentle rain PREVENTING me from mowing the lawn (see how disappointed I look?), the kids are getting old enough to let the "old folks" sleep in an extra hour or two (now if only the dog could figure out how to go for a walk by himself we would be all set!).  Its funny when I was doing Friday night youth groups with Street Lights back in Canada during the 1990's before Zachary was born we lived for the Saturday morning sleep in's they kind of restored the damage from the week before.... that stopped on August 18th, 1997!  Those of you who are parents of young kids understand!  Those of my friends that now have kids in high school and college, well remember the good ol' days?

Things are moving along as we plan for future conferences, Youth classes , training events in various countries (Ukraine, Lebanon etc)  and the ever present HORIZONS development   Its been nice to get to meet the new students at IBTS.  We only have 8 Certificate students this year instead of the 19 we had last year due to  strict VISA restrictions that the Czech Republic has adhered to now as part of the EU/Shengan partnership.  It makes it hard for us now to consider having long term volunteers as we don't have a sponsoring agency here to process Visa's for people who might want to stay longer than three months.  That has caused some problems this past week or two in terms of bringing any future volunteers.  The Raks are getting ready to wind up their 10 months in Litomerice soon.  We will be getting together with them to see how things are going.  So life is full...

Zachary had his EEG this week and we wait for results on the 20th.  We are anxious and hoping that all is well.  We took a leap and had discontinued his anti seizure medication on the advice of a Canadian  Pediatric Neuroligist who we met with this summer.  The Czech doctors where suprized we had done this.  In Canada typically they don't medicate unless a second siezure has happened.  To date (5 months on) Zachary has not had another episode.  Praise God. 

Matthew continues to battle some strange "tick" that makes him roll his eyes to the left and then he jerks his head.  Some days its really worse and other days nothing.  We have seen eye specialists, alergists, neurologists but nothing yet can seem to explain it.  We are at a loss.
