Halloween 2009 - things that go bump!

Halloween night... the spooks and goblins and "what is that's?" where out in the brisk night air in Prague tonight.  There is one American neighbourhood, Mala Sarka (I call it Litttle America) that is near the American school where they celebrate Haloween which otherwise goes ignored in Europe largely.  We have taken Zachary here for the past 8 years and tonight Matthew was wearing his LION costume that Zachary wore when he was 4 years old when we lived in Canada!  Talk about flashbacks tonight....!  Matthew went with our next door neighbour kids Hannah and Daniel.  It was their first time ever doing "trick or treat" but they caught on pretty quick!  Zachary and his buddies went around on their own and got a haul as well.  We then enjoyed a relaxed chat around our dining room table with our friends Joe and Ximena over steamy hot chocolate and chatted about traditions.  We are so blessed to have such great friends.
I have been fighting high blood pressure as of late and have been trying to take life at a little slower pace and not take on too much stress so this weekend was an attempt to start just "being" rather than doing.  I am coming to the realization in my life that family is so precious.  My grandfather on my mom's side has not be doing well and I have been thinking a lot lately about how short life really is.  How precious just the moments are.  Memories... we take life for granted so often.  Thank God for the moments...
